A little bit about our Programs…

Long Term Program (27 Months)

Our long-term missioners commit 27 months to spirituality, community, service, and simplicity—supporting the healing, education, and transformation of children in Honduras. Through prayer and intentional community, we serve mainly as educators or medical professionals, with additional roles in recreation, pastoral ministry, and maintenance/agriculture, always prioritizing people over projects.

Missioners complete a background check, safe environment training, and a June virtual orientation, followed by 4–8 weeks of Spanish school in Guatemala before arriving. Families (married 2+ years) are welcome—contact missions@farmofthechild.org for details.

Requirements

Faith-filled individuals who desire to live in intentional Catholic community and generously give of themselves to children in need.

Application

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis starting Dec 1 with a priority deadline of March 30.

Summer Service Program

Summer volunteers join the Finca community as a positive presence, supporting its mission and freeing long-term missioners to take needed vacations. They serve mainly as substitute teachers (K–9 and special education, in Spanish) but may also help in homes, maintenance, agriculture, technology, mechanics, or the clinic (if qualified). Volunteers supervise and tutor children, lead activities like Girl Scouts and soccer, assist with cooking, cleaning, prayer, and community meetings, and step in wherever needed. Above all, they fully participate in the Farm’s spiritual and communal life, sharing their talents in service of the children.

Join us for a summer you’ll never forget!
