Why did you decide to serve the mission at Farm of the Child?
I decided to serve at Farm of the Child because the faith and love that first formed me now call me to participate in that same work of formation for children on the margins. Through my childhood at Notre Dame’s Robinson Community Learning Center, I was transformed by the sacrifice and investment of the Northeast Neighborhood community, rooted in the belief that lives are “changed one relationship at a time.” Through their presence, faith, and belief in my potential, I received far more than I could ever repay.
In many ways, serving at Farm of the Child brings that story full circle.
Through its commitment to faith, education, community, and healing, the Farm offers me the opportunity to spend the next 27 months giving from the gifts I have freely received: walking alongside children who need stability, encouragement, and love through the same faith and relational commitment that helped shape my own life. My hope is that the love I received may become love lived out, love shared, and ultimately, love multiplied.
Paz y Bien!
