Farm. Finca. Home.

Some call this place the Farm, some call it the Finca, but we all call it home.

The mission of the Finca is simple: In gratitude for the great love that Jesus Christ gives us, we decide to unite ourselves and form a community to care for vulnerable children and to share the love of Jesus Christ.

"The Finca is a beautiful place. For us tías (aunts), the Finca is more than a job. It is a mission that God has entrusted to each one of us. We have the opportunity to support children who need loving care. This is a place where they can have rest from their suffering."

— Gloria Esperanza, current caregiver

“The Finca was a place of profound growth, intense struggle, and astonishing beauty for me. I learned more than I had ever known before about both suffering and resilience, lessons I learned from the example of the kids. The echoing laughter of kids on the soccer field taught me that there is intense beauty all around us, if we are only able to perceive it.”

— Harrison Hanvey, former missionary

“The Finca has an extraordinary significance for me. Most importantly, it is a gift from God to have a home like the Finca. The people here always support me, despite my difficulties. The Finca forms people to understand the importance of values, especially the faith. Thanks to the Finca, many of us young adults who have left keep taking steps forward to achieve our goals. Thanks be to God and to the Finca, my greatest treasures.”

— Dorfa Jasmina, 19-year-old former resident

“To me, the Finca is like a tree. There’s a lot of different people that are like the branches, but we’re all connected because we are family. But it’s also like the stars, because it’s full of light and is always shining.”

— Joel, 12-year-old current resident

Preaching the Kingdom in Trujillo, Honduras

25

years serving northern honduras

Inspired by the love of the Holy Family, our founder Vincent Pescatore followed God’s call to found the Farm of the Child in Honduras. Today, this vision continues as children with wounds of trauma and abuse receive a fresh start.

120

children attending our schools

Our schools reach beyond the Farm to provide education for our neighboring communities. Without the Farm, many of these children would not go to school.

1,500

clinic patients served annually

With limited access to low-cost health care in Honduras, our clinic saves lives.
