I have wanted to be a missionary for quite some time. I chose to study nursing because I knew that I would be able to use these skills for the good of others, particularly the poor! After spending several years working as a nurse in Denver, I am thrilled that God has provided the time and the place for mission work. I love kids and I love Spanish, so the Finca seems like a wonderful fit!
There is a poem about The Annunciation written by Fr. John Duffy. The poem speaks about when Jesus was conceived and one line states, “and nothing again would be casual or small”. This has become the truth of my life—since Jesus has entered, no thing has been mundane or meaningless. I know His deep affection for me and want others to know it in their lives too! I am excited to live among the people of Honduras and to accompany them in their daily lives. I know that God uses the small, everyday things to make His love known. I look forward to many soccer games, days in the clinic, mornings in the chapel, and all the little things in between.
