During the winter vacation when school is not in session the children of the Finca go on vacations to visit any family members that they may have in Honduras. I had the pleasure of going on vacation with a family of five children from the Finca to visit their mother in a village about 3 hours away. While visiting their mother and getting to know them outside the Finca walls, we developed relationships of love and trust in God that I hope will continue to grow and flourish for the rest of our lives. Through the experience of learning about the living conditions they came from before they arrived at the Finca a year ago, I grew in my understanding of the struggles that so many Hondurans face in their daily lives. Due to the fact that I know where the children come from, I can better lead them in a away that they can grow into the beautiful children God created them to be.
