There are many ups and downs at the farm. My high points often reflect a challenge or obstacle that was over come. One of these moments was on a rainy Tuesday morning when I found myself and Laura dancing a jig and shouting in triumph after slaying a rat that had attempted to eat our lunch. For me, the rat’s death represented not just a conquering of my own fears, but our community’s ability to unite and accomplish a common goal.

The Farm is making a difference in so many ways. Not just changing the lives of our tragically beautiful children, but also of our houseparents, our Honduran employees, our neighbors, and every volunteer that pass through here. You cannot leave this place without coming out different.
