The Farm of the Child is a program that thrives on consistency, new ideas, energy, and a commitment to improving the lives of all who are involved in the program. Our lives as volunteers will forever be changed from our years of service because of the love we have for the children, each other, and all the people involved in the program. From the house parents, sisters, volunteers, employees, benefactors and board of directors, we each play a key role in developing a change in the program, uniquely influencing the needs of every individual child. With the help of the large Farm community, we are changing lives through our faith, actions and love. |

Knowing since my sophomore year in college that post-graduate service was the route for me I began my search. My heritage, and Los Angeles blessed me with a drive to know Latin America. The finca being based in Honduras answered this demand, plus required a twenty-seven month commitment. This commitment assured me that the time here would not be a superficial outing, but a chance to put myself into something greater than myself, without the forseeable end in sight. Speaking to past volunteers I could sense their deep bond to the Finca, and I too wanted to share in their handiwork. |
