Ministry at Farm: Nurse
Why did you decide to serve the mission at Farm of the Child?
Since going on a medical mission to San Pablo, Ecuador in the summer of 2013, I’ve been discerning the call to use my nursing skills to live out my love for Christ as a missionary. As soon as I read about the Farm, I knew this was what Jesus wanted from me and has prepared me for. I know I’ll be the happiest, the most joyful, the most content I could ever be if I’m doing what the Lord wants and has called me to do.
What do you hope to experience through your ministry at Farm of the Child?
I hope to learn how to love without limits, to gain humility, to see Christ in everyone I serve. I am drawn to live simply because I want there to be more room for God in my life.
What are you most excited about/nervous for as you prepare to arrive?
I am beyond excited to be a part of an intentional Catholic community that both encourages and challenges me throughout the next 15 months. I am most nervous about working as a healthcare provider in Spanish! I pray that I become flexible and stronger in response to the challenges of daily life at the Farm.
